Los Ranchos Estates is one of the most expensive and prestigious communities in Coto de Caza, California. Located on the northeast side of the region, this neighborhood is very exclusive and features large lots.
Los Ranchos Estates is comprised of 75 homes that typically sit on acres of equestrian property. Luxury homes are found here and prices are in the millions. Quality education is provided by several private schools in the area including the Serra Catholic Schools and St. John’s Episcopal School. Los Ranchos Estates is also served by the top rated Capistrano Unified School District. Students attend Tijeras Creek Elementary School, Las Flores Middle School, and Tesoro High School. Saddleback College is only a few moments away and there are many other colleges within an hour’s drive.
Golf and tennis players are close to both the Dove Canyon Country Club, and the Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club. Residents of Coto de Caza have access to the Equestrian Center which features 47 miles of wilderness trails and five arenas. The center boards around 160 horses and offers lessons. It was used during the 1984 Olympics for the equestrian pentathlon events.
Residents have easy access to the 5 Freeway and 241 Toll Road. Many enjoy shopping at neighboring towns like Santa Rancho Margarita and Ladera Ranch. The Shops at Mission Viejo offer over 150 merchants like Nordstrom’s, Wetzel’s Pretzels, and B.F. Chang’s. There are also many parks like the Caspers Wilderness Park and Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park which offer camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and exploring.
Coto de Caza is a planned community that is made up of semi-custom homes and tract homes although there are luxury custom homes on the outer borders. Its name is Spanish for “game preserve” and you’ll find some of the most expensive real estate in Orange County here.
